Domestic violence victims:
In Oneida County: YWCA Mohawk Valley provides domestic and sexual violence services throughout Oneida County. To access services in Oneida County, call the 24-hour hotline: (315) 797-7740.
In Herkimer County: YWCA Mohawk Valley provides services to adult victims of sexual violence and adult survivors of child sexual abuse. We also provide a child advocacy center (CAC) for victims of sexual and/or severe physical abuse. The CAC brings together a multidisciplinary team of law enforcement; child protective services, district attorney’s office, mental health, and victim advocate representatives who work collectively to ensure the uniform handling of abuse cases. In Madison County: Liberty Resources Victims of Violence Program provides free and confidential services to those affected by sexual assault, domestic violence or other violent crimes in Madison County and surrounding communities. Services are available to all victims and their family, regardless of when the abuse or crime occurred or whether they choose to report it to the police. Hotline number is (315) 366-5000.
Homeless veterans and veterans at risk of homelessness:
The National Call Center for Homeless Veterans provides assistance to homeless Veterans and their families; VA Medical Centers; Federal, state, and local partners; community agencies; Veterans services providers; and others in the community. If you or someone you know is a homeless Veteran in need of help, call 1-877-4AID VET (1-877-424-3838) to receive free, confidential support from a trained, VA staff member 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also get confidential support from the Homeless Veterans Chat.
